Che cosa è il Jazz? - Sergej Dovlatov

“Stylistically, jazz resembles life… Jazz musician is not a performer. He is a creator, nurturing his art in front of an audience — fragile, instantaneous, intangible; like the shadow of falling snowflakes… Jazz is an amazing chaos, the basis of which is intuition pushed to its limit, taste, and the [collective] feeling of an ensemble… Jazz is us at our best. That is, when we are spiritually uplifted, fearless, and sincere…”

Dovlatov!
