Devo farmi perdonare per aver avvicinato il nome di Sufjan Stevens a quello del grande male in un precedente post.
Allora come farlo meglio se non proponendo un suo pezzo "John Wayne Gacy jr", dall'album "Come On Feel The Illinoise" del 2005?
Canzone che racconta di un serial killer, John Wayne Gacy Junior appunto, che si rese colpevole di 33 omicidi di ragazzi e giovani uomini che, dopo aver sodomizzato e ammazzato, seppelliva sotto la sua casa.
Gacy divenne famoso anche con il soprannome di Pogo il Clown" da come si faceva chiamare quando faceva il clown animatore alle feste dei bambini. Dopo averne letto di Gacy e delle sue perfomance assassine e clownnesche sempre lo metto in realzione a pennywise il malvagio clown protagonista di quel gran libro che è "It" di Stephen King.
Pagliacci, nostalgia, malinconia, il male come quotidianità, tutti questi aspetti mergono con grande risalto dalla musica e dalle liriche di Stevens.

E' una canzone stupenda, accompagnata da un azzeccatissimo video.
Un pugno nello stomaco, una tristezza che non ti abbandona.
per me è un po' moscia... comunque preferisco Nightmare a It: restiamo svegli!
